Ondo guber: Appeal Court sacks Jimoh Ibrahim, makes Jegede PDP candidate

An Appeal Court sitting in Abuja has overruled the the June 29 verdict of Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognise Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate for the Ondo State gubernatorial poll.

The Justice Ibrahim Saulawa-led three-man Special Panel of the appellate court ruled that Eyitayo Jegede becomes the PDP candidate at the election.

The court also declared the PDP faction of sacked national chairman Ali Modu-Sheriff – which projected Jimoh Ibrahim as PDP representative at the November 26-billed election – as illegal.
