Ondo 2016: Jimoh Ibrahim loses appeal as Supreme Court affirms Jegede as PDP candidate

The Ali Modu-Sheriff-faction selected nominee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the Ondo 2016 governorship elections, Jimoh Ibrahim, has lost his bid to reverse a judgement by an Appeal Court which places Eyitayo Jegede as the legitimate nominee of the party.

A Supreme Court sitting in Abuja struck out Ibrahim’s appeal today Thursday 24 November 2016, stating that the Ahmed Makarfi-led faction of PDP is the legally recognized faction.

The 5-man Supreme Court panel led by Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen affirmed that Jegede will represent the party at the Saturday November 26 2016 guber elections in Ondo State.
