Finally, Fulani herdsman nabbed with AK47 charged to court in Enugu

Ibrahim Adamu, the herdsmen arrested by policemen with a loaded Ak47 gun at Nkanu, Enugu State last month was arraigned in a magistrates court on Tuesday 20 September 2016.

Quoting court documents,

(Adamu was) arraigned on a three count charge for illegally possessing and having under his control Ak 47 rifle with 24 rounds of live ammunition in contravention of the firearms Act and thereby committing an offence contrary to section 6(a) and punishable under section 3(1) of the Robbery and Firearms (special provision) Act Cap.R11 vol.14, laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 amongst other count charges.

After the hearing, Chief Magistrate D.K Ekoh ruled that the accused be remanded in prison until his next court appearance.
