Ahead of the Feb 6 2017 protest against the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government, the Nigerian Police has issued a statement, saying it would not allow the rally to go on.

Lagos State commissioner for Police Fatai Owoseni said late Wednesday:
"Information reaching us revealed that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the peaceful protest.

"And as such, we won’t allow it to hold in Lagos. We know that Tuface do not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand."
In another development, a pro-Buhari support group, "I Stand With Buhari," has shifted its rally to correspond with the scheduled date of the anti-Buhari protest planned by 2face.
