Despite saying he would not allow witnesses with masked identities testify against him in court, the secret trial of top Biafra Republic agitator and Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu kicked off today.
Reportedly, presiding judge Binta Nyako left the courtroom in anger when Nnamdi Kanu protested the presence of hospital shields in the room, however, the case resumed and was rescheduled for Thursday 12 January 2016.
During a December 2016 hearing of the Nigerian Federal Government vs Nnamdi Kanu case, Justice Binta said,
"The counsels and the defendants will see the witnesses. The witnesses will have special entrances to and outside the court."
In reaction, Kanu blasted the female Federal High Court, Abuja judge and Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari for filing "masquerade" witnesses against him.
