A team of non-uniformed Nigerian policemen raided the Lagos office of Premium Times Newspapers around 5PM today. The publisher, Dapo Olorunyomi, was arrested alongside the paper’s judiciary correspondent, Evelyn Okakwu.

Condemning the attack, Editor-in-Chief of Premium Times, Musikilu Mojeed, said,
"They should stop deluding themselves that they can muzzle the press and intimidate PREMIUM TIMES.

"They should know that our loyalty lies with our readers and the Nigerian people who have a
right to know.

"The paper will continue to discharge its responsibilities in line with global best practices, social responsibility and patriotism, even at great risk to our personal liberties."
Recall that the Nigerian Army threatened Premium Times with legal actions after they broke the news of starving military troops subsequent mutiny in Northeast Nigeria.
