The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has suspended its secretary, Chidi Okonji, on Thursday for allegedly receiving 600,000 naira grant on behalf of the party from Delta State governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

Speaking over the chairman of the party, Jones Ode-Erue, narrated,
"APC will not, cannot and will never collect any money in the name of grants from the failed Okowa government in Delta State.

"APC takes exception to the activities of these political miscreants and this issue has been decisively dealt with."
In reaction, Okonji said that he was being victimized because he urged Ode-Erue to return the party bus donated by former APC chieftain Atiku Abubakar, while also resisting the chairman from using his personal account to siphon the party’s funds.
