Contingents of the AWCON-winning Nigerian female football team, Super Falcons, say they've received money for their entitlements and allowances as promised by President Muhammadu Buhari last week. The team members however, say they were still being owned part of their benefits for representing and doing their country proud at international level.

Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari, on Thursday 15 December, announced that the Nigerian leader has signalled the Finance ministry to sign documents in order to release funds for the payment of the players and their coaches who caused national embarrassment on media when they protested in Abuja days earlier.

However, speaking on Monday 19, some of the players say they've been paid only part of the money being owed.

One player who didn't want her name on print told Somtoo Okoye blog,
"I saw my bank alert this (Monday) morning and what was paid into my account was N4.8m, which is just for winning the AWCON.

"They have not paid us money for the qualifiers but they told us that they will pay."
