Last month, a group which gave its name as RE-IPOB, berated the activities of the Biafra Republic-seeking Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and promised to burn Biafran flags on Nigeria's Independence Day, October 1 2016 (today).

In reaction, the IPOB whose leader is Nnamdi Kanu, slammed RE-IPOB as a fake group hoisted by DSS on the Internet, saying it will burn Nigerian flags should Biafran flags be tampered with - and that it did.

The picture of an IPOB/Biafran supporter urinating on the Nigerian flag has gone viral on social media today. The man is seen setting the flag ablaze and burying it afterwards.
