Following the order given by the leadership of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) for all Igbos to close shop and remain at home today, various businesses stayed locked in the Southeast and some areas of South South Nigeria - the places often referred to as Biafraland.

In Abia State, the ever-busy Ariaria International Market was entirely closed as some youths were seen playing football in the market stands. Reportedly, the same went on at the Onitsha International Market in Anambra, the biggest market in Africa.
