A fire outbreak triggered by an electrical fault has left 11 babies dead inside a maternity ward in a hospital in Baghdad, Iraq, early Wednesday morning. The babies were kept inside the premature birth unit of the hospital before the fire outbreak ensured.

Al Jazeera reports that 7 other babies and 29 women were able to be rescued successfully from the fire incident at Yarmouk Maternity Hospital.

So far, authorities have sealed the hospital and are barring media from taking photos.
