Following alleged Federal Government-backed, staged reports by the national newspaper on Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), the group has called for its members and supporters of Biafra Republic to quit buying Vanguard Newspapers. IPOB took to their social media handles and live broadcasts on Radio Biafra to inform their members of the development.

In two separate statements released by "TRIPOB" and "RE-IPOB" which were both exclusively published by Vanguard last week, the two groups claimed they've sacked Nnamdi Kanu as IPOB leader and ultimately denounced Biafra - alongside millions of their members in the Southeast.

However, IPOB laughed off the reports, alleging that the president Muhammadu Buhari-led Nigerian government was behind the statements and "imaginary" groups.
