Dilma Rousseff, the first female president of Brazil, has been sacked over corruption charges. The 68-year-old was accused of manipulating the budget. At a senate seating today, 61 senators voted for the sack of Dilma while 20 votes backed her to stay.

Dilma was quoted saying on Monday when she was summoned by the Senate:
"From the day after I was elected, several measures were taken to destabilise my government. And you have been systematically making accusations against me."

Michel Temer has been appointed as acting president and will serve till the end of Rousseff's tenure which ends on 1st January 2019.
